The adventure

Al-Andalus was a Muslim state that ignited Europe for centuries. It's now more commonly known as Spain. Discover the romance and intrigue for yourself on an 8-day tour that offers expert guidance but leaves plenty of free time to unravel the mysteries on your own. You'll explore Madrid's museums, walk Toledo's streets, and embrace Andalucia's Moorish spirit in converted mosques, Seville's cathedral and the Alhambra of Granada. From gypsy culture to flamenco passion, encounter a culture a thousand years in the making.

◆Arrive at any time.
◆Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Toledo, and then return to Madrid and opt to visit museums or just relax at a local café.
◆Travel by high-speed train to Córdoba and visit the Mezquita (mosque). Afterwards, stroll the historic medieval Jewish quarter, full of narrow winding lanes and traditional houses.
◆Travel to the Andalusian city of Granada and take an orientation walk with the CEO.
◆Enjoy a guided visit to the architectural masterpiece, the Alhambra, one of the greatest accomplishments of Islamic art and architecture, and the highlight of the trip for most visitors. After, enjoy free time to explore with the option to take a bike tour or to visit the cathedral.
◆Catch a train and explore the town of Ronda on the El Tajo Gorge. Cross the Puente Nuevo and go down into the gorge itself for incredible views. Free afternoon to go explore the many attractions of the town or opt to go caving.
◆Travel to Seville and take an orientation walk with the CEO. Opt to take a walking tour in the Santa Cruz quarter, visit the cathedral Giralda or Casa Pilatos, or enjoy a traditional flamenco show.

Madrid, the grande dame of European cities, has it all — history, architecture, museums, galleries, beautiful parks, and a wild nightlife. The capital's most exciting street is the Gran Vía, but be sure to visit the Plaza Mayor –the true heart of Madrid. Enjoy a coffee in one of the plaza’s many cafés and watch the world go by. After the group meeting, opt to head out for a meal at a local restaurant with the group.
