Get off Brazil's well-worn (yet beautiful) path with this 14-day tour that begins in Rio and heads north. Spend two nights in the northern Amazon, slide your way down the sand dunes at Jericoacoara, and then finish off your adventure exploring the coastal city of Salvador. With both remote-beach time and big-city party time built in, this trip's the perfect way to see north Brazil.

In the morning, leave the concrete jungle behind to fly north to the lush Amazon. Travel by motorized canoe along the famous Amazon river, take in the flooded landscape and spot wildlife along the way. In the evening, spot caimans on a boat excursion and overnight in a jungle lodge.
Enjoy two guided hikes through the Amazon and learn about the plants, trees and wildlife that live deep within the jungle. Stop at a local community for lunch and learn about their way of life.
Wake up early for a morning excursion by canoe and enjoy the silence before the jungle awakens. Take in the sights and sounds of the Amazon while travelling along the river back to Manaus before flying to Fortaleza.
Today is a long travel day to get to the calm teal waters of "Jeri". Travel up the coast away from Fortaleza and arrive in the evening in time to watch the sunset over the ocean.
Enjoy the chill life in Jeri, spend the day exploring the area by 4x4 or relax in a floating hammock above the crystal clear water. In the evening, watch Brazilians practice Capoeira on the beach, a unique type of martial art made to look like dancing.
Take a stroll along the endless beach and watch windsurfers ride the waves. Opt to take a surf lesson, rent a stand up paddle board or soak up the sun.
Travel from Jeri back to Fortaleza, enjoy the vibrant city and nightlife.
Transfer to the airport and catch a morning flight to Salvador. Spend the day exploring, walk around the old city with its colourful buildings and see all the boats lined up in the port.
Head away from the coast for some hiking, mountains and breathtaking landscapes. Catch a bus to Chapada Diamantina NP and look forward to a few active days. Enjoy the evening in the small town of Lençóis, the base for exploring the park.
Chapada Diamantina NP is a hidden Brazilian gem with flat top mountains, beautiful waterfalls and majestic caves to discover. Hike around the park and explore the caves filled with crystal clear water, swim in natural pools and test your fear of heights at impressive lookout points.
