The adventure

From the incomparable wildlife of Uganda to the source of the Nile and onto the sunny beaches of Zanzibar, journey overland across East Africa on this thrilling three-week adventure. Track mountain gorillas through remote forest for a once-in-a-lifetime experience and pursue the elusive Big Five across open savannah on an unforgettable wildlife safari drive. Our overland adventure vehicles (OAVs) are an adventurous and affordable way to see the highlights while wilderness camping will bring you closer to the region’s wildlife. Discover the diversity of wildlife, landscape, and people on your journey through these fascinating countries.

◆Today is a bit of a travel day but you won’t mind because you could use the rest. The group will be leaving Uganda and crossing over into Kenya and travel to Eldoret. Hang out together as a group and enjoy a nice evening camping under the stars.
◆After your adventurous experiences yesterday you’ll be glad to have a more low-key travel day to replenish your energy. So sit back and enjoy the ride as the group transfers through the Kenyan countryside to Nairobi. We’re thinking naps, story time, and then maybe a mini dance party in the Lando to get you through the day. (Toto’s Africa song anyone?)
◆Travel south and cross the border into Tanzania.
◆Visit a Maasai village to learn about the Maasai people and the G Adventures-supported Clean Cookstove project. Meet the local women engineers who have installed clean cookstoves throughout these communities. In the afternoon, opt to visit the Mto wa Mbu village to enjoy a local lunch and cultural experience with the town's villagers.
◆Enjoy a wildlife safari drive en route to the central Serengeti. Spend the night at a basic bush camp and enjoy the starry African skies.
◆Enjoy a full-day wildlife safari drive in the safari vehicle. Opt for a morning hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti.
◆Set off on a wildlife safari drive on the way out of the Serengeti. Camp on the Ngorongoro Crater's rim.
◆Wildlife safari drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, then return to Arusha.
◆Fly to the beautiful island of Zanzibar and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy an orientation walk with your CEO in historic Stone Town, and opt to continue on for a longer walking tour, or explore on your own.
◆Transfer to the white-sand beaches and turquoise waters of beautiful Nungwi Beach.
◆Enjoy free time to lounge on the beach, snorkel, or tour the island.
◆Morning group transfer from Nungwi. Depart Stone Town upon arrival in the late morning.
