The adventure

The Arctic Circle may sound like a chilly destination, but when you go in the summer, there’s plenty to see and do by the light of the midnight sun. Begin in Kiruna and take two weeks via rail on this scenic train route, crossing to Norway above the Circle and going back south through the fjordland. Along the way, you’ll ride famous railways like Flåm, Ofoten, and Bergen, then disembark to engage in summer activities like rafting, kayaking, or canoeing. Seeing the fjords from a kayak rather than an oversized cruise ship is a brand new perspective – come realize it for yourself.

◆Arrive at any time.
◆Spend the day enjoying Kiruna. Opt to do some hiking or book one of the many local tours in the area. In the evening, opt to follow your CEO on a midnight sun hike.
◆Hop aboard the Ofoten Railway to Narvik, Norway, before continuing by bus to the Lofoten Islands. Enjoy staying in some charming fishing cabins on the coast.
◆Enjoy free time on the islands with an optional wildlife-spotting cruise or scenic hikes.
◆Take a ferry across to Bodø before switching to the Nordland Railway for the long but scenic ride to Trondheim. Watch as the mountains and fjords glide by.
◆Spend a free day exploring Trondheim. Opt to visit the neighbourhood of Bakklandet, the old town bridge, Market Square, or Nidaros Cathedral. Opt to linger in one of the cafés along the wharves or wander the old city streets.
◆Take the Dovre and Rauma railways through the mountains, valleys and rivers of this region. Travel by bus to the gorgeous Geiranger area.
◆Enjoy free time at the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord and opt for a scenic boat cruise. Other options here include a fjord safari, hiking, visiting farms in the area, or kayaking in this stunning region.
◆Enjoy a free morning before continuing through fjord country to reach Flåm.
◆Spend the morning exploring Flåm with options to ride the famous Flåmsbana Railway, go kayaking, take a boat ride, or enjoy a local cheese tasting. Continue to Bergen by ferry, one of the most well-known cities in Norway's fjordland.
◆Enjoy an orientation walk of this small town. Get the lay of the land visiting Old Byrggen and the fishmarket. Spend the rest of the day any way you like. In the evening, ride the Fløibanen Funicular to the top of Mt Floyden for spectacular views of the area. Opt to enjoy dinner at the peak.
◆Ride the famous Bergen Railway, one of the highest in the world, to reach Oslo in the late afternoon. Opt to visit the Munch Museum, the Akerhus Fortress, the Holocaust Museum, or the Vigeland Sculpture Park.
◆Depart at any time.
